Stop. Make a change campaign broadens scope for 2018

The UK construction industry has worked hard over recent years to improve working conditions and specifically drive down the rates of work related illness, injury and even deaths. HSE statistics show that it’s working, with year on year figures for incidents on the decrease.

Last year saw the introduction of a new initiative – the Stop. Make a change campaign saw organisations from the UK Infrastructure sector effectively ‘downed tools’ for a day – 18th April – and focus instead on working together to build a healthier, safer industry.

This year the campaign has broadened it’s scope to the whole of the construction industry. With two areas of focus – mental health and plant safety – it’s also expanded into a 2 week event running from 16th to 27th April.

Developed by an industry working group, the campaign is open to any business working in the construction or maintenance industry. If you and your business wish to get involved, simply email enquiries@ceca.co.uk and they will issue a joining and registration pack. There is no cost for signing up, but any business getting involved is expected to agree to a series of commitments pertaining to health, safety and wellbeing.
